Everest Academy is seeking experienced OCT Certified Teachers to fulfill full-time positions for the 2023-2024 academic year, and potentially onwards in the following areas:

  • Junior Homeroom
  • Intermediate/Senior English
  • Intermediate/Senior Social Science 
  • Intermediate/Senior Business
  • Intermediate/Senior Math
  • Intermediate/Senior Sciences 

Responsibilities:

Teacher to carry out their duties as assigned by the administrative team – Principal, Vice Principal(s), and/or President in the following areas;

  • Curriculum and instruction
  • Assessment and writing report cards
  • Assist with the development and implementation of critical school initiatives
  • Parent and community engagement
  • Student leadership and development
  • School spirit activities
  • Participate in team and/or department meetings
  • Contribution to newsletter updates
  • Communicate with the administrative team
  • Reporting on and monitoring of critical initiatives
  • Assist with teacher duty roster ie. Morning/afternoon duty, school events such as parent night, family math night, etc.
  • Assist with creation and organization of fun/theme days for the Everest Community
  • Assist with the Everest Holistic programming

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Teacher Certification (OCT)
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and Growing Success documents
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Experience integrating technology into the learning environment to enhance the learning experience
  • Passion for teaching and supporting extra-curricular activities
  • A background in athletics is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

Carry out their duties as assigned by the administrative team – Principal, Vice Principal(s), and/or President in the following areas;

  • Provide an inviting and inclusive learning environment for students with learning needs
  • Daily support of students with learning needs, including tracking of academic progress
  • Create and maintain up-to-date Individual Education Plans for applicable students
  • Assist with student success and well-being, including frequent conferencing 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of critical school initiatives
  • Parent and community engagement
  • Student leadership and development
  • Participate in team and/or department meetings
  • Communicate with the administrative team

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Teacher Certification (OCT) 
  • Additional qualifications in Special Education are considered an asset
  • Experience with Edsby is considered an asset
  • A background in athletics is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the various Ontario Ministry of Education documents, including Growing Success and Ontario Schools: Policy and Program Requirements
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills

Responsibilities:

Carry out their duties as assigned by the administrative team – Principal, Vice Principal(s), and/or President in the following areas;

  • Maintain OSR’s, in accordance with Ministry of Education
  • Manage information within the Learning Management System (Edsby) and Student Information System (Twine)
  • Maintain up-to-date OnSIS reports
  • Assist with post-secondary planning 
  • Report card editing and distribution 
  • Oversee student success and well-being
  • Assist with implementation of special education and resource programming
  • Assist with school planning – daily schedule, course timetable, course selection process
  • Assist with the development and implementation of critical school initiatives
  • Parent and community engagement
  • Student leadership and development
  • Participate in team and/or department meetings
  • Communicate with the administrative team
